DJ, Selector and Curator of Universal Playground SOUND, Bj Piggo, brings you fresh new diggs every month for your musical pleasures. Whether it’s music, art, lifestyle or behind the scenes, you will find new inspiration right here.
MUSIC FOR YOUR FAVORITE PLACE:
Recently I’ve been thinking about music in a cafe/restaurant/bar setting. Spaces where you come to enjoy food, drinks, or conversation in the first place rather than music. It is supposed to decorate the space, accompany the atmosphere. It’s supposed to be there but not to interrupt. So if you are visiting your favorite local place, pay attention to it and if you find it disturbing, suggest them this playlist. I recommend it and I would appreciate it.
TOM MISCH LIVE AT MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL
Lately, I’ve been really fed up with all the online festivals and performances and everything that is happening. To experience human expressions in whatever way through TV is not what I’m looking for. I’m quite sure it is because of the lack of live experiences that I don’t want to do it. I need to feel the sound, the bass on my body, and grooves on my skin.
Then I gave a chance to this concert and it felt really good. Could be because I’m a sucker for Tom Misch music, nevertheless, I recommend it and by watching it you are also supporting the National Museum of African American Music.
Since its inception in 1967, the Montreux Jazz Festival has been shaped & inspired by the rich culture of African American Music and its artists. Streaming revenues for this video will be entirely donated to the National Museum of African American Music. You can also donate directly to the Museum: https://71931.blackbaudhosting.com/71…
SOULFUL SUNDAYZ AT DJOON WITH KAPELA & VANINA
Let me suggest you one more recording. This time I would love to support my friends from Paris/France, Kapela Marna, and Vanina. Both dancers and artists. Two and a half hours long soulful house set that is weaved by wonderful singing. It is pure happiness and love for the music.
VISUAL OF THE MONTH
This month I would love to present our new visual series displaying the personal expression of dancers and movers, called FLOW. A flow state, also known colloquially as being in the zone, is the mental state in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. In essence, flow is characterized by the complete absorption in what one does, and a resulting transformation in one’s sense of time.

INSPIRING AND MOTIVATING
Last time I shared with your interior design as my passion. This time I would love to share my interest in architecture and tell you a short personal story. A few years ago I took a trip to Spain to walk Camino del Norte. It is a famous pilgrimage in Europe that actually goes all over Europe even to some parts of Russia. I walked from Gijon to Santiago de Compostela and from there to the end of the world – Finestra. I ended my trip in Madrid where I realized I fell in love with Spain and had to come back. Next year I got to play in Barcelona and took a chance to explore the city. I had only 2 free days so I knew I had to visit La Sagrada Familia first. I could talk about it for hours, but it would not do justice. The only thing I will share with you is that it was the first time I cried watching architecture. Powerful moment and powerful story.
Then I recently stumbled upon this video and it made me so happy and eager to come back as soon as possible.

ALBUMS TO FOLLOW
This month I would love to bring back this section and present 3 very interesting albums and artists you might like.
JEFF BERNAT – SHE LOVES ME NOT
From the first time I got introduced to Jeff Bernat, he became the pinnacle of R’n’B music for me. If you don’t melt to his voice, then you should start looking for your heart, because you clearly lost it :D
ADRIENNE INDIGO & PAUL GRANT – REBIRTH
Let’s stay with sensual music and balance this palate with Los Angeles singer and beatmaker Adrienne Indigo. He latest release Rebirth with Paul Grant is a magnificent journey. Dive in
AL DOBSON JR. – SOUNDS FROM THE VILLAGE, VOL. 2
To wrap it up here is an instrumental album, which sounds you might know from my show Universal Playground SOUND. I use it a lot for transitions for its great drums and easy loops.
